AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL OFFICER  

Lydd Airport is a busy and expanding general aviation airport serving a wide range of aircraft operations including: commercial, corporate, private, training, military and unmanned aerial systems in Class G airspace.

We have a vacancy for the full-time experienced Aerodrome (ADI), Approach Procedural (APP) rated Air Traffic Control Officer with a Met Observer’s Certificate and EU Class 3 ATCO Medical.           

General Responsibilities:

Whilst the specific details of the ATCO duties are included in the local Manual of Air Traffic Services, the main duties are listed below:

Provide a safe, orderly and expeditious Air Traffic Control Service in accordance with MATS Part 1 and MATS Part 2

·         Prepare METARS in accordance with CAP746

·         Comply with EU2015/340 Licensing requirements

·         Report incidents in line with national and local procedures

·         Assist and participate in Unit training programmes

·         Learn the role of the ATSA and perform support duties when required e.g for leave relief

·         Perform occasional secondary administrative duties within the Unit

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

 ·         Current ADI rating with valid TWR endorsement

·         Current valid APP rating

·         Current EU Class 3 ATCO Medical Certificate

·         Meteorological Observer’s Certificate

·         English Language Level 5 as a minimum

·         PC literate

·         For the duration of employment, a current, clean CRC to satisfy airport security standards.

·         5yr work/academic history check

·         Clean full UK driving licence

Desirable:

.         Previous OJTI endorsement an advantage

·         Good organisational skills and able to multi-task

·         Team worker and customer focused

·         Enthusiastic and flexible, prepared to work shifts involving some weekends, bank holidays and unsociable hours

The successful candidate will have previous experience at a busy general aviation aerodrome with knowledge of operations and limitations of working in Class G airspace without radar.

Remuneration and Benefits

Hours: 40hrs per week rostered in shifts which may include weekend days, bank holidays and unsociable hours

Salary by negotiation & according to experience and qualifications

31 rising to 33 days annual leave including 8 Bank Holidays

Loss of Licence Insurance

Working Location: Lydd Airport, Romney Marsh, Kent TN299QL

Employment Start Date: As soon as practicable

Salary: Starting from £36,370 per annum
